To really protect and stretch your investment on leather shoes, there are mainly 4 steps to follow:

Cleaning Smooth Leather Shoes

Remove dirt by cleaning with a leather cleaner made specifically for smooth leathers. You can use saddle soap or a smooth leather shoe cleaner.

Shoe cleaners come in gels, foams, sprays, liquids and creams. Many leather cleaners come with an applicator top, or you can use a soft shoe brush to aid in removing dirt from the surface of the shoe. This will also help to remove dirt from any cracks in the shoes.

After cleaning, let the shoes dry for a few minutes and begin shining the shoes with a soft cotton cloth – either a shoe shine cloth, or even an old t-shirt, as long as it’s soft and made of cotton.

Conditioning Leather Shoes

Conditioning your leather shoes will help soften and moisturize the leather, and protect it from drying out and cracking. Certain types of leather, and shoes worn in dryer climates might need to be conditioned more often.

Some shoe cleaning products will clean and condition your shoes, but if you want your shoes to get the full treatment, or used a product specifically for cleaning, the next step is to condition your smooth leather shoes.

Of course, you’ll want a conditioner made for the specific type of shoe you’re working on. Also, look for a natural conditioner that is absorbed into the material of the shoe, as opposed to a synthetic conditioner that sits on top of the surface.

Rub small amounts of conditioner into the shoe, until the entire shoe has been covered with conditioner. After a couple of minutes, wipe any remaining conditioner off of the shoes, as the leather will only absorb what it can.

Polishing Your Leather Shoes with Traditional Shoe Polish

Shoe polishes are available in liquid, cream or paste. Liquid shoe polish dries quickly, but is not readily available in a lot of colors and does not last as long as the other options. Shoe polish paste is the longest lasting, but is very messy and slow to work with. Shoe polish cream is a great compromise, and is available in lots of colors.

Of course you’ll need to get the appropriate color of polish for you shoes. You can find a variety of shoe polishes at shoe stores, shoe repair shops and general stores.

Apply the polish to a small, less conspicous area of the shoe to test and be sure the color is right.

Rub the polish into the shoe with a soft cloth, and allow it to dry thoroughly.

After the shoe polish is dry, shine your shoes by buffing them with a soft cloth or brush made specifically for shining shoes. 

The Right Protectant for Your Shoes

Different weatherproofing products serve different purposes, so you should choose wisely. For example, if it is essential that your shoes are waterproof because you spend a lot of time in wet or messy conditions, and a pretty finish is not as is important, a beeswax product would be a better choice than a protective spray.

Beeswax products form a protective layer over the surface of the shoe or boot instead of being absorbed into the leather. This provides a better barrier against water, but the additional layers can alter the appearance of the shoes.

If the appearance of the shoe or boot is of more importance than the weatherproofing properties, a spray protectant should do the trick. By providing a breathable barrier against mild to moderate wet conditions and dirt, this type of weatherproofing product is virtually invisible on your shoes or boots.

Additional Tips for Leather Shoe Care

• If your leather shoes have alot of old polish buildup, you may want to use a pre-cleaner
• Don’t try to use shoe polish to change the color of your shoes. If you need your shoe color changed, consult a shoe repair shop.
• Remove any laces before beginning. Laces can be cleaned separately or replaced if they are in really bad shape.
• The next time you buy a pair of leather shoes, condition them before ever wearing them. This will help insure that your shoes are best protected from the start, and will save time on future cleanings.

Changes have been made to my life. I am no more a student, working in this corporate world for almost 5 months and so far I been coping pretty well.  Things really going too fast for me at times that i hardly have any spare time for myself. I really miss those times when i just go to the beach, and be so close to Mother Nature.

I want to be a better person! Though i know i have alot of bad habits and bad things about me. but i am going to Change!

Ms. Lo Hwei Yen

A Singaporean taken hostage during coordinated attacks across India’s commercial capital of Mumbai has been killed, the foreign ministry said on Friday, 28/11/08.

Lo Hwei Yen, 28, was identified by her husband, who was accompanied by Singapore’s high commissioner, Jai Sohan, consular director of the foreign ministry.

Now, our young lady has become a victim to terrorism. She is just a young lady who went to Mumbai for her work. I guess its wrong to kill innocent lives. I would like to convey my sincere condolences to the family  & friends of Ms Lo Hwei Yen. This is a tragedy for all Singaporeans.

In this Paris Hilton’s My new BFF. there’s this innocent girl that really caught my eye. she is just like the Jamie Sullivan in the “A Walk to Remember”. The innocent chirsitian girl who goes to church regularly and a virgin.. which i feel in America is kinda big achievement given the temptions of Hollywood too.  She is Shelly from Texas. An incredibly shy and sensitive girl.

I feel in this series, she is the only real and true friend i would like to have. She’s really very good, and there’s nothing bad about her… she doesn’t bitch and most importantly, she has a kind heart.

Though she got eliminated on 28/11 by Paris Hilton, but i believe that she wil lbe a great friend to have…if i do have the chance to have her as a friend…

好想念上海但我知道如果想到上海发展的话是蛮难的因为上海有实在太多的人才。何况很多人都想到那生活。好奇怪吗？ 很多人都想来新加坡但我又想到国外。

前几天我认识了在酒吧唱歌的歌手。有一位姐姐（echo)，她真的很会唱。她也被骗来新加坡工作。她也说比较喜欢在中国香港的酒吧唱。不果她就把这三个月当成来新加坡旅行吧。她也分享了她唱歌的梦想。我可以说如过有一天她被发现，她肯定是一位很好的歌手。

我也真的很忙。社会大学真的很难。有太多东西要学，只求能找到一位很好的社会大学老师教导我。。。

Changi Airport Departure Board

When i was young, i really lurve the airport lots…remember when i was still in secondary school….will hang out at changi airport with my marist and convent school friends. Sitting at the viewing gallery reading a book while looking at the planes taking off….

Now….since my work place quite near Changi Airport….will go there for my lunches occassionally….today  i went with my colleagues / friends to T2 for our lunch and chilling out at Starbucks….its a 2 hours lunchie!!! hehehe

I got myself a cup of caramel machiatto….It’s a Starbucks original. Foamed milk marked with espresso and vanilla, then topped with a distinctive caramel pattern. Sweet, buttery and intense. I could say i really enjoy the zoning out moment…where memories of the past….of the airport came back to me….

I really miss the good old times when i was still young…. but i can only look back and cherish every moments about it…

Changi Airport MRT Station

I stumbled upon this music video recently. A walk to remember is a romance novel about this greatest romance story. It’s about this girl who change the life of a rascal boy and motivated him to excel in his studies and subsequently achieve to become a doctor. It’s serendipity for me. Apparently, this novel is the most memorable movie/novel i ever watched and read.

It also shares a little about how spirtual Jamie is and how she believes that God has a plan for everyone. I do sincerely hope that God has a plan for me and that he didn’t forget about me in his plan.
